How Much Do Fitness Influencers Make? Real Numbers

What fitness influencers actually earn: sponsored post rates by follower count, what YouTube pays per view, where creator income comes from, and how recurring affiliate commissions turn an audience into monthly income.

How much do fitness influencers make? Anywhere from nothing to over $100,000 a year, and most creators make under $15,000. A fitness creator with 10,000 to 50,000 followers asks about $185 on average for a sponsored post. The ones who earn a living add income that repeats every month: their own coaching and recurring affiliate commissions, such as HubFit's.

Key takeaways

  • Most earn a little: more than half of creators make under $15,000 a year, and about 4% make over $100,000.
  • Sponsored posts: fitness creators ask about $150 to $385 a post below 500,000 followers. Rate studies disagree by ten times or more, so treat any single number as a guide.
  • YouTube ads pay less than you think: the median health and sport channel in one network's data keeps about $1.23 per 1,000 views.
  • Recurring beats one-off: a 3% commission on a $40 product pays $1.20 once. A coach you refer to HubFit on Ultimate earns you $406.98 in their first year.

How much do fitness influencers make?

Most fitness influencers earn a part-time income from content, and a small group earns a full-time living. In the Influencer Marketing Hub and NeoReach creator survey of over 3,000 creators, more than half earned under $15,000 a year. Goldman Sachs estimates that only about 4% of creators earn over $100,000.

ZipRecruiter lists a $51,693 average for "fitness influencer" jobs, but that figure is based on employer job postings and third-party data, so it reflects paid roles, not what a self-employed creator earns from their own channels. Don't plan on it.

One real example: a fitness creator interviewed by Outside with over 300,000 TikTok followers and over 100,000 on Instagram makes about $90,000 a year. That comes from coaching, brand deals and part-time work, and they say content alone doesn't pay full time.

How much do fitness influencers charge per post?

Fitness creators ask about $150 to $385 for a sponsored post below 500,000 followers, according to Collabstr's health and fitness price data. These are asking prices on Collabstr's marketplace, not guaranteed payouts.

FollowersAverage asking price
1K to 10K$150
10K to 50K$185
50K to 100K$285
100K to 500K$385
500K to 1M$655

Across all niches, Collabstr's 2026 report found that 80% of paid collaborations cost under $300, and the average payout was $255 on YouTube, $193 on Instagram and $186 on TikTok. Health and fitness brand searches on the platform rose 76% in a year, so demand is growing.

Other rate guides publish much higher ranges. Later's 2026 guide puts 100,000 to 1 million followers at $2,500 to $10,000 or more a post, and Influencer Marketing Hub gives $5,000 to $10,000 or more for Instagram at that size. Neither publishes its sample, and the gap with marketplace data is ten times or more. Price on your own engagement and results, and use these numbers as a starting point.

How much do fitness influencers make on Instagram and TikTok?

Instagram and TikTok pay most creators little or nothing for posting, so income on both comes from brand deals, affiliate links and selling your own coaching. Collabstr's fitness data shows what creators ask on each platform:

FollowersInstagramTikTokYouTube
1K to 10K$195$215$195
10K to 50K$245$230$265
50K to 100K$340$275$350
100K to 500K$535$440$505
500K to 1M$765$525$850

Instagram asks the most at the top tiers, while TikTok creators ask more than Instagram ones below 10,000 followers. An older HypeAuditor survey of 1,865 Instagram accounts (2021) found that only 48.5% earned anything from their account at all.

How much do fitness YouTubers make from ads?

A fitness YouTuber keeps about $1.23 per 1,000 views from ads: AIR Media-Tech's data from 300 channels across niches puts the health and sport median there, against $2.30 for all niches. YouTube pays creators 55% of net ad revenue on long videos and 45% of their share of Shorts ad revenue.

So 100,000 views a month is worth about $123 from ads. To earn ad money at all, a channel needs 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 watch hours in 12 months, or 10 million Shorts views in 90 days. Ads are a bonus for most fitness channels. The money is in what you recommend and sell.

How do fitness influencers make money?

Fitness influencers make money in five main ways, and it pays to use more than one. Goldman Sachs estimates brand deals at about 70% of creator revenue, and the IMH survey found 49% of creators earn most of their income that way. Both point to the same risk: one income stream that stops when you stop posting.

  1. Brand deals: a fee per post, only if renewed. The biggest share of creator revenue overall, and the least predictable. A good month and a quiet month can look very different.
  2. Product affiliates: a share of each order, once. Supplements, gear and apparel pay a small percentage of what people buy. Amazon Associates pays 3% on sports products in the US, once per order.
  3. Software affiliates: a share of every payment, monthly. Apps your audience keeps paying for pay you while they stay. Rewardful, which runs over 2,600 software programs, says most pay 20 to 30%.
  4. Your own coaching: monthly client fees. Online coaching, programs and challenges you sell yourself. Coaching is part of the Outside creator's income too.
  5. Ads and creator funds: per view. Small for fitness, as the YouTube numbers above show.

Selling your own coaching is the stream you control. On HubFit Premium and up, each coaching package gets its own checkout page with a single shareable link for your bio, and clients pay you through Stripe with no HubFit transaction fee on top.

Recurring vs one-off commissions: what one referral is worth

A recurring commission is a share of every payment a customer makes, not only the first, so one referral is worth many times a one-off sale. Here is the same single referral under three kinds of program.

One referralYou earnOver a year
$40 supplement at 3%$1.20 once$1.20
$1,000 rack at 8%$80 once$80
HubFit coach on UltimateUp to $35.70 a month$406.98

The first two rows are example rates, and real programs vary. The HubFit row is the program's own terms: 30% of every payment a coach makes for 12 months. A product sale pays once. A coach who runs their business on HubFit pays every month, and you earn on every payment. The year figure counts the coach's discount in their first months.

How HubFit pays fitness creators

HubFit pays creators in two ways: a recurring commission on every coach you refer, and an app to coach your own audience. Both turn the same followers into monthly income instead of one-off sales.

Earn on every coach you send

The HubFit affiliate program pays you 30% of every payment each coach you refer makes for 12 months, and the coaches get 20% off their first 3 months. It suits fitness YouTubers, podcasters and creators whose audience includes coaches and personal trainers.

  • A code and a link. You get your own discount code and your own link. The link goes in descriptions and bios; the code works when you say it out loud in a video, a podcast or a live, with nothing to click.
  • Every payment counts. Monthly and annual plans, upgrades and the Branded App add-on all earn you commission.
  • Paid monthly. Commission is paid every month by bank transfer.
  • A product coaches stay on. HubFit is the #1 Coaching App, rated 4.9 on the App Store and Google Play, and clients use it free.

Coach your own audience

Your followers already want your training. HubFit lets you sell it as coaching and keep them paying monthly, not once.

Three screens from the HubFit client app: a 30-day step challenge leaderboard with the top three on a podium, a Workout Warrior badge challenge with bronze to diamond tiers, and a community post's reactions

  • Challenges. Run leaderboard or milestone challenges that track sessions, volume, steps, logged days, calories or protein by themselves, with 25+ templates. A challenge is a natural launch for a creator with an audience.
  • Community. Give paying members their own feed to post, react and talk to you, so your community lives in your coaching app, not only in your comments.
  • Workout Studio. Upload your follow-along workouts and let members stream them in the app.

Payments and Challenges come with Premium and up; Community and Workout Studio with Ultimate. Read more on how HubFit works for content creators.

A worked example: a 75,000-follower fitness creator

Here is one possible month for a creator with 75,000 followers, using the numbers above. It is our own example, not survey data.

Income streamThis monthNext month
2 sponsored posts at $285$570Only if rebooked
YouTube, 60,000 viewsAbout $74With new views
Product affiliatesAbout $60With new orders
5 online coaching clients at $149$745$745 again
8 HubFit coaches on Ultimate$285.60$285.60 again

The 8 HubFit coaches are trainers from your audience who joined with your code or link after a review or setup video, now past their first three discounted months. Brand deals are the line most likely to be zero next month. Your coaching clients and the HubFit line repeat, and the HubFit line pays for up to 12 months per coach while they stay, growing with every coach you add.

FAQ

Short answers to what creators ask most about fitness influencer income.

How many followers do you need to make $1,000 a month?

There is no fixed number, because income depends on engagement and what you sell, not followers alone. On Collabstr's fitness averages, $1,000 a month from brand deals takes about four posts at the 50,000 to 100,000 follower level. Recurring income can get there with fewer followers: about 30 coaches on HubFit Ultimate, or a small group of paying clients.

How much do fitness influencers make on TikTok?

Most fitness TikTokers earn from brand deals, affiliate commissions and their own coaching, not from TikTok itself. Collabstr's 2026 data puts the average TikTok collaboration at $186 across all niches, and fitness creators on TikTok ask about $215 to $440 below 500,000 followers. Bigger accounts ask more, but rate guides disagree widely.

How much do fitness YouTubers charge for a sponsored video?

Fitness YouTubers ask about $195 for a sponsored video at 1,000 to 10,000 subscribers, rising to about $850 at 500,000 to 1 million, on Collabstr's 2026 fitness data. Across all niches, YouTube collaborations had the highest average payout on the platform, at $255.

What is the best affiliate program for fitness creators?

The best one pays recurring commission on something your audience keeps using. If coaches and personal trainers watch you, the HubFit affiliate program pays 30% of every payment for 12 months. Compare more options in our guide to fitness affiliate programs.

Can you be a fitness influencer and an online coach?

Yes, and for many, coaching becomes the main income. Your content brings people in, and coaching is what they pay for every month. See how to start an online coaching business and how to sell workout programs online.
